While in school I worked at a tanning salon in Boulder, Colorado as a custom airbrusher. I started to notice how large the margins were between the product we were using and how much we were selling airbrushes to customers. Knowing I could charge $15 less and still make a profit, I started a custom airbrushing business that, in the beginning, catered to the sororities, and later, the students of CU, and eventually the city of Boulder. When I graduated I sold the business to a student younger. The tanning salon I used to work at is now out of business. :x
While I was starting the business off the ground I developed its brand, designed the logo, designed all print and digital work (flyers, stickers, digital campaigns), designed the website, managed, and airbrushed. As it got larger I hired a manager to help with scheduling and marketing.
